Grand rond de jambe can be quite a difficult step. Many dancers experience hip clicking or a significant drop in the leg height.
Today I talk about imagining that you could pull your leg out of your hip socket to create more space for your leg to make the full rotation from front to back or back to front. All this happens without moving the pelvis toward the working leg. Once you are able to create a stable base and work on reaching your leg and lengthening away from the base this move becomes a lot easier and less stressful for your joints.
